Roger started in the trade as a tile finisher in 1990 at Custom Tile in Oroville chopping mud and making cuts, after several years as a tile finisher in the Oroville region, he moved to Sacramento to seek union work landing at J.D. Ballard and Sons. Roger worked his way up to journeyman tile setter, after a couple years he was put in charge of Shriners Hospital an 8 story +1MM tile and stone job running 40 Union Journeyman Tile & Stone Mechanics by the age of 26. Shortly after he wrapped up the hospital Roger received his C-54 and started working for large commercial tile contractors.


In 2009 after 15 years with a large union shop Roger took a business development role with his wife's new tile company, NCTS. Roger knew he could build a team of top-notch installers and with the business development and strategic planning for NCTS after running multi-million dollar projects for other owners.

ERIC WITCHER • General Manager/Chief of Estimating

Eric started off his tile career as a Journeyman tile finisher and setter. After some experience, he was able to become an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator. Over the following years, Eric worked for Capitol City Tile and Marble and Superior Tile and Stone developing his understanding of the ANSI standards, TCNA and MIA manuals that guide the industry.   In this time he gained extensive experience in managing large commercial projects and the multiple facets of schedules, sourcing, and document/scope control to successfully bring in these demanding jobs.

MARK THOMAS • General Superintendent

Mark is one of the newer members of the NCTS crew, joining as our General Superintendent. Despite recently joining NCTS, he has been in the tile business for 35 years. Mark is a third generation tile setter and began his career working for his father. He eventually started his own company which he ran successfully for 12 years before selling. Then, he worked at Fisher Tile for 12 years and even moved to Hawaii with Fisher to work on w project there for 5 years. More recently he ran field operations for Shane Alexander, taking the workforce from 7 to 27 members. Now he is a much-appreciated member to the NCTS crew.

CHRIS DANIELS • Estimator/Project Manager

Chris has over 35 years of experience in the tile and stone industry. In 1982, he started his career with Daltile in Anaheim. Six years later, he transferred to Santa Rosa as the Branch Manager. In 1989 he became a certified Ceramic Tile Consultant. In 1995, he began working for Pennacchio Tile as an estimator, and ultimately became the General Manager and Senior Estimator. In 2000, he went to work for North Coast Tile & Stone as a partner, where he was the Vice President and COO, managing up to 60 employees and three estimators. With the economic downturn, the partnership dissolved, and in 2008 he went to work for Surface Art as an estimator and salesman. In January 2017, he moved to Sacramento and began working at Northern California Tile & Stone as an estimator and project manager, where he hopes to remain until he retires.


RICH PERRYMAN • Estimator/Project Manager

Rich joined the tile business with speed and determination, finishing the installation and completion of projects at Capital City Tile within his first year of working there. His quick learning allowed him to earn his Journeyman Finisher card in twenty-four months. He later learned the tile setting and the business aspect of the tile industry after moving to a smaller company during the economic downfall. He rejoined NCTS in 2013, working as a Journeyman tile setter. Proving his dedication and knowledge to the trade, Rich was promoted to the estimating department. He understands what it takes to start and complete a project, not only as an installer but also from a technical standpoint with a growing understanding of the TCNA, MIA and ANSI specifications. With his interests in cutting edge technology relevant to the trade, he has been responsible for coordinating educational meetings for our installers.



ERIK JOHNSON • Project Engineer

Erik Johnson started his tile construction career at age 15 working at his parents' tile trade school. Building off his carpentry experience he then rejoined the tile industry as veneer superintendent. After completing 100+ projects as a superintendent, Erik was asked to sit on Ceramic Tile Institute Of America technical committee. Years later he opened Nordic Pro Stone and Tile where he obtained his C-54 license. After relocating to Northern California, Erik has joined the NCTS team.




Working with his father at a young age, Zachariah has more than 17 years experience in the tile trade. His journey with NCTS begun March of 2016, where he quickly became noticed for his hard work and dedication to the industry. After working a year in the field and finding out Zachariah carries a degree in Business Administration and a degree in Accounting, he was a prime candidate for an open Project Engineer position. For the past year, he has shown a great passion for learning and understanding of the tile industry. His experience in the trade, his work ethic, and his education continues to pave the way for his career.




Tile has run in Christena’s family for quite a while. Her first experience in tile was at Fischer Tile, a company that her grandfather also worked for. After a few months of a part-time summer job, she decided to upgrade to a full-time job at a residential tile company. During the housing boom, she spent many years learning the many aspects of business, such as accounting, contract management, construction defect litigation, insurance, residential tile, and estimation. After the housing market crash, she worked as the project manager for the commercial Hawaii division and later, after her dad retired, transferred to the California side of the commercial tile division. She's been in the tile business for almost 20 years, and in 2018 she was welcomed into the NCTS workforce.



ANDY GASTELUM • Estimating and Project Management

Andy Gastelum began his journey in the tile business in 1995 as an apprentice. Two years later he graduated to tile installer and not long after that he was managing large commercial projects, from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. He eventually entered a 6-year partnership with Starnet Commercial Flooring Company as a Project Manager and Estimator in their tile and stone division.  

MONICA McFADYEN • Controller

Monica manages the AR/AP, Human Resources and Payroll responsibilities. In addition, she handles the effective running of construction companies with revenues exceeding 20 million. She brings with her over 20 years’ experience in all areas of accounting, office management, and contract management. She is proficient in billing requirements, prevailing wage compliance, insurance certificates, contract execution.

SHELLY TILLERY • Accounting Assistant / Executive Assistant

Prior to joining NCTS, Shelly was the Executive Assistant for a non-profit organization that served all small school districts throughout the state of California. In addition, Shelly brings with her over 20 years of experience in all areas of accounting.

JERRY HERDEMANN • Purchasing and Logistics Manager
With over 20 years experience in warehousing, inventory control, purchasing, procurement, and project management, Jerry has worked in a broad range of industries including retail, e-commerce, printing, construction, telecommunications, and tile/stone. 

Jerry started at Capitol City Tile & Marble Inc. in 2004 as a Shop Foreman. After 5 years with CCTM, he moved onto project management roles with Performance Tile and Endurance Tile. He has built solid relationships with tile vendors and contractors. He took a short hiatus from construction to work as the Shipping Manager at Fruitridge Printing before returning to the tile industry. As the Logistics Manager, he manages submittals, tile and material orders, vehicle and machinery maintenance, dispatch of onsite deliveries, and drop shipments.
